Jac-Cen-Del received a $25,000 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation to purchase computers for the PLTW / Ripley County Engineering Academy. We would like to thank the Rising Sun Regional Foundation for their generous donation.
The Ripley County Engineering Academy at Jac-Cen-Del currently serves our students as well as students from Milan and South Ripley. Students utilize Autodesk Inventor, Multi-Sim, Arduino, Vex Robotics, and Parallax BASIC to create and design working prototypes for various real world applications. Students have developed real world skills in 3D CAD using the professional edition of Autodesk Inventor. They develop additional skills in C Programming utilizing Arduino and VEX microprocessors. Students have developed skills using Parallax BASIC on the Parallax microprocessor. They construct prototypes for real world machines such as elevators, autonomously guided vehicles, conveyor systems, drill presses, material placement and moving, and remotely controlled vehicles. They also use Multisim, a circuit designing software, to design, test, and build digital electronic circuits.
